You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the Role

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. A commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

The specialist follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provides center-level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS).

How You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance regarding incidents.
  • Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
What You Bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits (

Location:

USA – TX – Irving)

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $25.00 – $34.38. The actual wage offered depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, and certifications. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.

Eligible U.S. employees may receive short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per year, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
