Overview
This position leads advocacy, stakeholder relations, and community engagement efforts to elevate the visibility, understanding, and value of the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB) across the community. Duties include articulating the role and impact of the tourism and hospitality industry; representing the ICVB at civic, business, tourism, and community events; building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, partners, and residents;
and leading community-facing programs and initiatives that align tourism with quality-of-life outcomes.
- Developing and delivering written, visual, and video content; public speaking and presentations; coordinating outreach efforts and special events; supporting future funding initiatives; and working with leadership to develop measurable metrics related to resident sentiment, community benefit, and economic impact.
- Advocacy, public affairs, community engagement, content creation, and stakeholder communications.
- Representing the ICVB at civic, business, tourism, and community events; articulating the role and impact of the tourism and hospitality industry; building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, partners, and residents.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, journalism, hospitality, or a related field, and eight years of related professional experience required.
- Experience in advocacy, public affairs, community engagement, content creation, and stakeholder communications preferred.

PAY GRADE HI57 / FULL PAY RANGE $7,988 - $11,264 PER MONTH

The Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau represents the city’s $1.96 billion-per-year hospitality industry, welcomes more than three million visitors annually, and is funded by hotel tax collections. The Irving CVB connects corporate, convention, and leisure visitors to the city’s hotels, meeting venues, restaurants, attractions, and shops, as well as attractions throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The strength of the visitor industry and hotel tax collections provide funding for the Irving Arts Center and the Preservation and Redevelopment Program.
