Our client, a major North American Risk Management & Third Party Administrator, is seeking an experienced Claims Supervisor to lead and oversee a Workers’ Compensation claims unit in their Irving, TX office. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and enjoys mentoring claims professionals while delivering high-quality results for clients. You’ll supervise Claims Examiners and support staff, ensure compliance with Texas workers’ compensation regulations, manage reserves and payments, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and internal partners.
This is an in-office position and requires consistent, timely attendance.
- Supervise and mentor Claims Examiners, Claims Assistants, and administrative staff
- Monitor attendance, performance, evaluations, and disciplinary matters
- Review claims activity including initial reviews, ongoing reviews, delays, and denials
- Approve reserve changes (up to $250,000) and payments (up to $10,000) within company guidelines
- Conduct detailed file reviews to ensure compliance with Texas laws, client requirements, and internal procedures
- Coordinate and lead training sessions on updated laws, policies, and best practices
- Ensure caseloads are appropriately staffed and evenly distributed
- Approve priority payments and sign checks as required
- Address claimant, vendor, and client concerns professionally and promptly
- Monitor vendor performance and adjust panels as needed
- Ensure all client servicing instructions are followed
- Provide coverage during examiner absences or vacancies
- Prepare and evaluate monthly client reports
- Facilitate and participate in internal and external audits
- Conduct and document educational sessions (internal and external)
- Attend client file reviews as needed
- Partner with corporate leadership and sales/service teams on RFPs and client service matters
- Follow Supervisor Best Practice Guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in workers’ compensation claims
- Active Texas Adjuster’s License
- Strong working knowledge of Texas workers’ compensation statutes
- Solid understanding of medical terminology
- Experience supervising claims staff in a high-volume environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Texas public entity and school district claims experience (highly preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a diary system, prioritize work, and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly explain technical claims information to claimants, clients, and staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to manage employees with varying experience levels
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to manage stress and multiple priorities effectively
- Positive, professional attitude with a strong sense of urgency
- Office-based role using standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, fax, 10-key)
- Professional office attire required
Salary/Rate Range: $85,000 to $90,000
