District Technical Service Manager – Denver, CO

Location & Travel RequirementsDenver, CO and surrounding areas (Colorado Springs, Fort Collins). Extensive travel (more than 75% day and overnight travel).
Job ScheduleFull‑time.
Responsibilities- Assist in resolving vehicle repairs that dealer technicians are unable to diagnose and repair.
- Instruct dealer technicians in proper diagnostic and repair procedures.
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports.
- Evaluate customer buy‑back vehicles and manage their disposition.
- Serve as the primary interface with national consumer affairs, the technical hotline, BBB arbitration, and Lemon Law cases.
- Analyze dealership service operations and provide constructive feedback and action plans.
- Identify areas for improvement and review recommendations with Dealer Principal/Executive Manager and NNA regional staff.
- Collaborate with FOM counterparts to synergize operations.
- Participate in CSI reviews, address issues, and develop action plans to improve customer satisfaction.
- Identify, implement, and share best practices across dealerships.
- Monitor staff performance using real‑time tools and CSI scores; address sources of customer complaints.
- Support complex vehicle diagnostics and train technicians on proper procedures.
- Communicate with engineering and technical teams to resolve recurring or complex technical issues.
- Investigate incidents by examining vehicles, reviewing documentation, and preparing detailed reports.
- Make informed decisions aligned with company strategy and customer needs.
- Serve as expert witness in Lemon Law, product liability, and warranty litigation; collaborate with Consumer Affairs to resolve disputes.
- Evaluate dealership training needs, tool inventory, and systems; recommend improvements.
- Promote service department certification and recognize achievements.
- Review and approve/deny warranty and goodwill claims using systems data and technical expertise.
- Act as technical SME during warranty reviews.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
- Four or more years of professional technical experience, automotive preferred, plus two or more years of DTS/TECH LINE experience or related industry leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination that fulfills minimum requirements. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Status preferred.
- Proficiency in automobile mechanical and electronic functions; general knowledge of dealership service operations; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize own schedule, organize workload effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to function effectively and remain productive in a virtual office environment.
- Focus on dealership and company interests; objectivity in building relationships.
- Dedication to meeting internal and external customer expectations.
- Attentive to others’ opinions and perspectives; ability to influence actions by building credibility.
- Result‑driven, even in the face of resistance; ability to present ideas and analysis effectively.
- Understand complexities of situations and solicit assistance as needed.
- Clean driving record/Motor Vehicle Report.
More than 75% day and overnight travel.
