Facilities Maintenance Technician

Duties include responding to maintenance requests for playgrounds, aquatic facilities, park properties, and other park infrastructure, and from rental customers and other City departments; opening and closing facility gates; turning lights on/off for vendor rentals and scheduled events. Duties also include maintenance responsibilities for playgrounds and park infrastructure, display fountains, and maintaining our dog park grounds to ensure all equipment and areas are safe, clean, and in good working condition.

Additional duties may also include performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry work – troubleshooting, making repairs, and assisting with remodeling projects; preparing and painting interior and exterior walls; assembling, dismantling, and moving furniture and other objects; and performing light custodial work. Duties typically will require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of mechanical maintenance experience are required.

Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Class C Texas driver’s license. Must also have, or be able to obtain within a specified timeframe, Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification and either an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification. Duties also require being able to respond to after-hours service calls concerning building maintenance emergencies, and working additional hours for special events and fountain maintenance.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 6am-2:30pm.

PAY GRADE GG14 / FULL PAY RANGE $21.61 - $30.47 PER HOUR
