The Painter/Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for maintaining painted surfaces and completing basic maintenance duties in and around clinic departments and residential apartments/homes. The position will maintain facilities in orderly and sanitary condition. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting as well as basic maintenance. Work is full time during the weekdays at residential and clinic sites, including outside work in ambient temperatures ranging from 30-100°F +/- 2°F.

The residential site may be a home or an apartment complex, possibly two stories high, with the top story accessible by one flight of stairs.

Job Tasks
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, and applying interior and exterior paint using appropriate materials.
  • Use prior experience with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. Reliability, dexterity, and attention to detail are required.
  • Examine surfaces to determine the type and amount of work necessary.
  • Make on‑site preparations, such as building scaffolding or covering fixtures.
  • Use substances that may be hazardous only when following directions and safety procedures.
  • Perform light maintenance and minor repairs as required.
  • Repair any mechanical failures or negative conditions and prepare work orders for maintenance repairs.
Qualifications
  • High school graduation or G.E.D. required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least two years of painting experience preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them.
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.

Work full time, Monday‑Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some overtime work. Some travel on site required.
