Senior Business Analyst

Our client is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to support backend reporting and analytics initiatives within a Databricks-based data warehouse environment. This role partners closely with data engineers, consulting operations stakeholders, and product leadership to drive high-impact reporting solutions.

Location: Irving, TX (onsite Tuesday–Thursday; remote Monday & Friday)

Duration: 6+ month contract

This Senior Business Analyst will focus on backend reporting and analytics, working with teams responsible for ingesting data from multiple sources into an internal analytics platform. The role involves gathering and translating business requirements into actionable user stories, collaborating across technical and business teams, and supporting delivery through the full Agile lifecycle.

• Act as a liaison between end users, product management, and development teams
• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into clear user stories
• Own and maintain the product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner
• Lead and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
• Perform gap analyses and propose cost-effective, business-aligned solutions
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements
• Provide ongoing support during design, development, QA, and UAT
• Write SQL queries to retrieve data and help identify and triage discrepancies
• Support stakeholders during user acceptance testing and issue resolution
• Partner with business owners and technical architects to define product direction and scope initiatives

• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
• Experience serving as a solo BA owning a product or application
• Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects
• 2+ years of Agile BA experience (Scrum or XP), including managing user stories and backlogs
• Strong SQL querying experience
• Excellent requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills
• Working knowledge of data analytics, data warehousing, and big data concepts
• Exposure to testing methodologies and UAT processes
