About the role:
The CRM Data Analyst is the
business owner of CRM data integrity and logic
, responsible for ensuring that Microsoft Dynamics CRM is accurate, trustworthy, and usable by Sales, Marketing, and Operations. This role sits on the
business side of the CRM
, partnering closely with Sales and acting as a liaison to technical teams to ensure data is entered correctly, maintained consistently, and executes as intended.
This is an
analyst-first role
, not a pure marketing or technical position. Success is measured by data accuracy, logical consistency, and CRM reliability—not campaign volume. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, quantitatively minded, and comfortable working “in the weeds” of CRM data, workflows, and logic validation.
Core Responsibilities (Primary Focus) CRM Data Ownership & Governance
- Serve as the primary business-side owner of CRM data quality within Microsoft Dynamics.
- Define, document, and enforce CRM data entry standards, usage rules, and best practices across Sales and related teams.
- Partner with Sales leadership to ensure opportunities, leads, contacts, and accounts are structured and maintained correctly.
- Perform regular audits of CRM data to identify errors, duplicates, incomplete records, and logic inconsistencies.
- Validate that CRM workflows, automation rules, and customer journey logic execute correctly and align with intended business behavior.
- Troubleshoot cases where data or logic “does not behave as expected,” identifying root causes and coordinating fixes with technical teams when needed.
- Design, maintain, and test logic-based customer journeys and email workflows within the CRM.
- Build conditional logic based on customer attributes, behaviors, and lifecycle stages.
- Ensure journeys are accurate, tested, and consistently performing as designed before and after deployment.
- Act as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, and technical CRM resources.
- Translate business requirements into clean, logical CRM configurations.
- Support CRM-related questions from business users and guide correct usage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Marketing Operations, or related field.
- 1–2+ years of hands‑on experience maintaining CRM data in a production environment, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
- Demonstrated experience with CRM data audits, cleansing, deduplication, and validation.
- Experience building and
testing logic-based workflows or email automation
within a CRM or marketing automation platform. - Strong analytical and logical thinking skills; comfortable reasoning through data structures and workflow behavior.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, data cleansing).
- Ability to read and reason about data queries or data feeds (SQL familiarity strongly preferred, even if not writing complex queries).
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy during repetitive or high-volume work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and technical teams.
