Cloud Engineer III (Full Time, Contract-to-Hire;Hybrid in Irving, Texas)
Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise financial services organization, is seeking a Cloud Engineer III to support the design, build, and operation of cloud-native solutions in Azure. This role is heavily hands-on, focusing on Kubernetes (AKS)–based microservices architectures, Azure App Services and Functions, CI/CD automation with Azure Dev Ops, and production support of highly available, secure cloud platforms. The engineer will collaborate closely with application, platform, and infrastructure teams, troubleshoot complex production issues using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, and apply strong cloud networking fundamentals to ensure reliable system integration.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior‑level cloud engineer who enjoys owning solutions end‑to‑end, operating in regulated environments, and contributing to scalable, enterprise‑grade cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native solutions in Azure using AKS, App Service, and Azure Functions
- Build, operate, and optimize Kubernetes (AKS) clusters with a focus on scalability, security, and high availability
- Develop and support microservices architectures, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Azure Dev Ops
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Kubernetes tooling
- Collaborate with application, platform, and infrastructure teams to deliver and support enterprise cloud solutions
- Hands‑on experience building and supporting cloud-native microservices in Azure
- Expert‑level Kubernetes / AKS experience in production environments
- Strong experience with Azure Dev Ops for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Kubernetes tooling
- Solid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (VNets, ingress/egress, load balancing, DNS)
- Experience working in regulated or financial services environments (preferred)
