The 2023 Irving ISD Bond Referendum funds this position and is for the direct support of the associated $573.75 million construction and Technology projects. The term of employment is directly tied to the duration of the bond program and associated projects, as well as the continued need for project oversight and management in support of the projects. The 2023 Bond Election passed on May 6, 2023 and projects are scheduled through the Summer of 2027.

Primary

Purpose

Drive the successful planning, implementation, and execution of projects that involve Information Technology (IT). This includes engaging all stakeholders and ensuring that IT projects are delivered on‑time, within budget, and meet all requirements and expectations. The Technology Project Manager responsibilities include participating in construction meetings, developing detailed project plans, scheduling & conducting periodic project status meetings, documenting key events and milestones, and ensuring that resources are available to execute the project plan.

This also includes providing project summaries, close‑out and post‑mortem reports and presentations.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Project Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Preferred
  • Certifications:

    Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent.
  • Project management experience ranging from start‑up pilot programs to large‑scale technical projects.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Networking and two (2) years Audio / Visual (A/V) experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of project management experience.
Special Knowledge And Skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer care skills
  • Excellent time management skills, able to plan/organize/complete work across multiple concurrent projects with various timeline constraints.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management life cycle.
  • Knowledge and experience in monitoring project progress and in quality assurances of deliverables and documentation.
  • Knowledge of Audio Visual (A/V) / Information Technology (IT) convergence.
  • Knowledge of audio/visual systems and equipment, including projection, interactive flat panel displays, control systems, and their integration.
  • Knowledge of data network cabling and infrastructure design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience in reading a standard architectural drawing.
  • Ability to present to executive leadership teams and other high‑level audiences.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft tools, including Office and Project (or equivalent).
  • Proficient in the use of applications of G‑Suite (Google).
Major Responsibilities And

Job Duties
  • Review construction documents, attend and actively participate in construction meetings, ensure that all IT requirements and commitments are met and in‑synch with overall construction schedules and milestones.
  • Serves as project coordinator/liaison to represent Technology with architects, engineers, technical consultants, inspectors, and contractor representatives involved construction and renovation of facilities.
  • Coordinate and Collaborate with Architects and other design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, and project coordinators to ensure conformity with district technology requirements, time schedules, budget limitations, government requirements (e.g. eRate) and district
