Description
The Onboarding Coordinator – Home Health & Hospice
The Coordinator is responsible for managing the onboarding process for clinical and non‑clinical staff in a regulated healthcare environment. This role ensures all onboarding requirements, credentials, and compliance documentation are completed accurately and timely in accordance with federal, state, and agency‑specific regulations. The Onboarding Coordinator serves as a key liaison between HR, Recruiting, Clinical Leadership, and new hires to support a smooth and compliant transition into patient care roles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the full onboarding lifecycle for Home Health and Hospice employees, including clinical and administrative staff
- Assign, track, and audit onboarding tasks and documents through Paylocity
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, CMS, state licensing, and agency policies
- Verify completion and accuracy of required clinical documentation, including but not limited to:
- Professional licenses and certifications
- Background checks and drug screens
- Immunizations, TB testing, and health screenings
- CPR/BLS certifications
- OIG/GSA exclusion checks
- Communicate onboarding requirements, deadlines, and next steps to new hires in a clear and supportive manner
- Coordinate orientation schedules and assist with new hire orientation sessions
- Collaborate with Recruiting and Clinical Leadership to ensure readiness for patient assignment
- Monitor onboarding timelines and elevate delays that may impact start dates or patient care
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with HIPAA and HR standards
- Assist with audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews related to personnel files
- Provide onboarding status updates and reporting to HR and leadership as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred - 2+ years of HR onboarding, credentialing, or healthcare administrative experience preferred
