Role OverviewThe Product Owner (Healthcare) is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering healthcare technology products that meet business objectives, regulatory requirements, and patient/member needs. This role serves as the bridge between clinical, business, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and user-centered healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap aligned with healthcare business goals.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog with a focus on patient outcomes, provider experience, and operational efficiency.
- Translate healthcare business requirements into clear user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, UX, clinical SMEs, compliance, and operations teams.
- Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and relevant CMS guidelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Validate delivered features against acceptance criteria and regulatory requirements.
- Gather and analyze feedback from clinicians, payers, providers, and end users.
- Support release planning, go-live activities, and post-release monitoring.
- Act as the primary decision-maker for product-related questions during development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Product Manager.
- 3+ years of experience working in the healthcare domain.
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, data standards, and terminology.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
