Schedule:
Monday - Friday
Role: Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner in surgery for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas.
QualificationsEducation:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
License:
- Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate
- Current BLS certification
Required Experience:
- Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical radiological exam
- Ortho and Spine experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
- Demonstrates ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions dependent on the age group of the population served
- Demonstrates ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families in age group served
- Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- The OR Radiology Technician operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS and prepares patient’s room, equipment, and supplies
- Provides patient services using imaging modalities
- Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed
- Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed
- Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
- Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination and documents any deviations
- Practices surgical aseptic procedures
- Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Direct
- Weekly, Weekend, and holiday call required
