Duties include approving and processing purchase orders for equipment, supplies and services; working with City departments to prepare specifications for the bidding process, and issuing solicitations through the Ion Wave bidding platform; conducting pre-bid conferences with vendors and City department managers in order to obtain and furnish crucial information, and preparing bid addenda as necessary; preparing bid tabulations and assisting City departments in evaluating vendor responses;
generating bid recommendation items for presentation to the City Council; assisting City departments with Cooperative purchases as appropriate; and assisting City departments in understanding purchasing policies and procedures. Duties will require meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication and time-management skills. Duties will also require the ability to adhere to strict deadlines, working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in purchasing, public administration, business or a related field is preferred; and two years of experience in purchasing or bid preparation / evaluation is required. Prior experience with MUNIS Enterprise Resource Planning software and/or a computerized bidding platform beneficial. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. PAY GRADE GG22 / FULL PAY RANGE $5,634 - $7,939 PER MONTH
