Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the disposal of solid waste at the landfill tipping area / working face.
  • Processing incoming material with heavy equipment to build waste cells per designed landfill permitted plans.
  • Directing all vehicular traffic entering the landfill – making contact, visual and verbal, with each vehicle to ensure the safety of all vehicles, equipment and people at the working face.
  • Performing grounds‑keeping duties utilizing zero turn mower, push mower, ag tractor with bat‑wing, chainsaws and weed eaters in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Reviewing materials being unloaded and advising customers what to do with materials not allowed to be disposed at the landfill.
  • Identifying recyclables and diverting them to the recycle area.
  • Completing Waste Screening reports.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience.
  • Must currently have, or be able to obtain, a Waste Screening Letter of Competency and an appropriate Texas driver’s license.
  • Must be able to respond to after‑hours trouble calls.
Pay Grade

PAY GRADE SW04 / FULL PAY RANGE $28.09 - $37.00 PER HOUR
