Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated US Tax Manager to join our tax team. Reporting to the US Tax Director, the Income Tax Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the overall federal income tax compliance process of the US entities of the Group (including tax consolidated group, affiliates, domestic and international transactions, etc.). The Income Tax Manager will also assist the team during the tax provision process and other specific projects.

This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams located in the US and abroad, provide proactive guidance on tax matters, and ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and internal controls. Team player, the qualified candidate must possess the ability to work in an international environment with good communication skills and maintain the ability to work independently with strong timing constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, prepare and review filing of federal income tax returns, including all supporting schedules and disclosures (domestic and foreign).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, accounting, legal, etc.) to collect data and resolve tax issues.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors/providers, financial statement auditors and consultants on an ongoing basis.
  • Support internal and external audit processes related to tax compliance and provision.
  • Assist the team for the annual tax provision process, including calculations, documentation, and analysis.
  • Assist in managing and continually assessing the Company's tax processes and ensure necessary improvements are implemented and coordinated effectively.
  • When required, assist with the day-to-day functions of the tax department for all other US taxes to which the Group could be subject to, including state and local taxes, franchise taxes, excise taxes.
  • Provide tax technical support for business initiatives, transactions, and other projects as assigned by the Tax Director.
  • Analyze and interpret federal tax legislation, regulations, and their impact on the business.
  • Monitor changes in US and international tax laws and communicate meaningful updates to US and HQ senior management.
  • Support the Tax Director in all matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, MST, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in federal tax compliance and tax provision, preferably with a mix of public accounting and large multinational corporate experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of US federal tax laws and regulations, experience with IFRS standards would be a plus.
  • Experience with One Source Income Tax preparation software and strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with and work collaboratively with other members of the Safran Tax Team and with the Business and Finance teams.
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus as deadlines approach.
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with an emphasis on detail orientation.
  • Quick learner and open to changes in an international environment, ready to evolve in an international group where the US is reporting to HQ located in Europe.
