Responsibilities include a wide range of tax reporting and tax analysis functions related to the company’s various business activities and those of its affiliated entities. Federal and state tax preparation and compliance, ASC 740 tax provisions, and indirect tax reporting.
- Preparing federal and state tax preparation and estimated payments
- Maintaining tax records/books, preparation of multiyear tax projections and financial analysis, and preparation of estimate tax payment calculations
- Handling quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisions calculations
- Responsible for indirect tax compliance, including sales & use and property
- Assisting with research and planning to determine the tax impact of current and proposed activities and transactions
- Implementing strategies to minimize tax liability in accordance with current law or proposed tax legislation
- Maintaining and updating tax depreciation schedules
- Working with the accounting department on book and tax transactions and concepts
- Coordinating with the legal and accounting departments regarding the organization and dissolution of entities
- Monitoring the status of tax return compliance to ensure deadlines are met
- Filing annual informational returns and ensuring applicable fees are paid
- Updating and maintaining the tax compliance calendar
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in income tax, either in public accounting or in-house corporate tax department
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations
- Familiarity with income tax provisions (ASC 740) and tax compliance processes is an advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Active CPA license
