Position Summary

This non‑emempt hourly position reports to the Assistant Branch Manager or to the Branch Operations Manager and is an in‑office position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Primary role is to open new accounts; personal, business, & certificate of deposits, perform routine teller transactions in a cash intensive environment and provide basic customer service such as address changes, stop payments and other requests.
  • Provide account opening information and ensure proper documentation is completed, scanned and entered on the computer system.
  • Maintain a well‑developed working knowledge of the complete line of bank products and services offered.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries and service requests, providing prompt and accurate resolution of issues in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, regulatory banking requirements, and state and federal laws.
  • This position also requires helping with teller duties including but not limited to acting as backup teller and scanning branch capture work as needed.
Job Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week including rotating Saturdays from 9:00 to noon.
  • Must have at least two years' experience in opening new accounts in a banking environment.
  • Must have prior teller experience.
  • Ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills — in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently in order to accomplish tasks.
  • Experience in efficient personal organization and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Thoroughness and meticulous attention to detail while seeking to identify and correct banking errors.
  • Ability to express written concepts clearly and concisely using correct banking forms and paperwork when required.
  • Experience seeking to improve and develop new process and ideas related to daily banking tasks.
