McKesson’s Strategic Finance team is seeking a Director of M&A Finance to play a critical role in shaping the company’s long‑term growth and capital deployment strategy. This is a high‑visibility individual contributor opportunity for a seasoned finance leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, valuation, and executive decision‑making.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership, providing rigorous analysis and clear insights that directly influence McKesson’s mergers, acquisitions, and capital allocation decisions. From leading enterprise‑level valuation work to guiding due diligence and preparing Board‑level materials, your work will have a tangible impact on the future of a Fortune 10 organization.

This position can be remote in the US with potential for quarterly travel to Irving, TX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation of the valuation analysis for M&A opportunities using discounted cash flow models and other relevant valuation practices.
  • Actively manage the M&A due diligence process by coordinating with the Corporate Finance Functions—identifying key financial risks and opportunities related to the transaction.
  • Maintain a good understanding of transaction documents and the impact of negotiations on potential financial risk to the business, and be able to articulate internally.
  • Communicate key operating and valuation drivers to senior leadership, highlighting the overall impact on the enterprise.
  • Own the preparation of financial schedules included in M&A for Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Review valuation analysis for capital deployment developed by the business and assist in preparing capital presentations for Senior Leadership and the board.
  • Develop relationships with relevant internal stakeholders across the enterprise, including business units, corporate development, and other corporate functions.
  • Perform other ad hoc analysis as needed.
Critical Skills
  • Relevant degree; typically requires 10 years of experience with 5+ years in valuation, M&A, and transaction advisory.
  • Capability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direction while interacting with business units throughout the organization and presenting results and status of various deals to senior leadership.
  • Must be able to successfully collaborate with key stakeholders across functional areas; a problem solver, persistent, and goal‑oriented individual.
  • Financial reporting knowledge including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, net working capital, and capital expenditures.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills including WACC calculation, discounted cash flow modeling, market multiple analysis, leveraged buyout analysis, and other valuation‑related methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills—clear and concise communication to senior leadership.
  • Written communication skills and ability to concisely summarize key trends and analyses to management and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent PC skills with solid working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Preference for experience using Capital IQ.
