Software Systems Engineer - IV​/C​/C++

Overview

America Networks is a leading sensor and networking solutions partner for companies in any Industrial, Manufacturing, and Waste management space. We design and manufacture sensors for storage tanks, water metering, energy metering, gas monitoring, and asset management. Our founders are telecommunications engineers with extensive experience in designing, optimizing, and performance engineering for mid– to large wireless carriers internationally. We provide low power, cost-efficient sensors to collect data, create alerts, and predict necessary actions.

We combine these sensors with low power, wide area (LPWA) networking technologies to help clients decrease re-occurring costs of operating an IoT sensor network. We specialize in design, deployment, optimization, and support of these networks, delivering off-the-shelf or custom solutions and pushing data to the best cloud platform to fit client needs, including client-owned cloud.

• Design and code from specifications, analyses, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software apps.
• Use coding methods in C/C++ languages to initiate or enhance program execution and functionality.
• Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions.
• Perform project management of estimating, scheduling, and monitoring tasks.
• Performs expert-level engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems.
• Develop, maintain, and report intranet metrics.
• Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments.
• Manage, administer, and maintain all internet and intranet sites.
• Research/analyze data processing functions, methods and procedures.
• Monitor program execution for expected performance.

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree and at least 8-10 years of experience in the IT field.
• 8+ years experience with C/C++ languages.
• 3+ years experience with Unix Scripting languages.
• 5+ years experience with SQL/PL-SQL/Stored Procs.
• 8+ years experience in Billing and Rating platforms.
• Preferred experience with Net Cracker or AMDOC Billing and Rating systems.
