About Hollman / Role Summary
Hollman is a design-to-manufacturing organization producing highly customized millwork and casework solutions. The Drafter supports Hollman projects by producing clean, accurate 2D layout drawings used for customer submittals, internal coordination, and installation. This role focuses on converting customer‑provided architectural floor plans into Hollman‑standard layouts using AutoCAD while maintaining drafting accuracy, consistency, and schedule adherence.
This position offers a potential growth path into a Project Engineer or Engineering role for candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude, ownership, and continued skill development.
Key Responsibilities Drafting & Layout Development- Produce clean and accurate 2D‑layout drawings in AutoCAD LT for customer submittals and internal use.
- Convert customer‑provided architectural drawings and site information into room layouts, elevations, and plan views.
- Interpret architectural drawings, site dimensions, and constraints to ensure accurate layouts and clearances.
- Apply Hollman drafting standards, symbols, layers, and file naming conventions consistently.
- Update drawings based on feedback, redlines, approvals, and field changes.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to clarify requirements and resolve layout discrepancies.
- Communicate issues related to missing, unclear, or conflicting information in a timely manner.
- Organize and maintain CAD files within Hollman’s document control structure.
- Maintain organized drawing sets and revision histories throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure drawing packages are complete and issued on schedule to support project timelines.
- Perform basic quality checks for scale, dimensions, and completeness.
- Follow established drafting standards, templates, and best practices.
- Assist with maintaining and improving drafting templates and standard details.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting or design.
- 1–3 years of drafting experience using AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans and markups.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines.
- Exposure to Solid Works (significant plus).
- Experience preparing layout drawings for manufacturing, casework, millwork, or installation.
- Familiarity with submittal and approval workflows.
- Basic understanding of construction or installation practices.
- Experience working in a project‑driven manufacturing environment.
