This position reports to the office 5‑days per week and we do not have remote or hybrid opportunities. Only local candidates will be considered as we do not offer relocation assistance.
Astura’s Design Engineer will serve as a design resource during the development process. The primary goal of the Design Engineer is to use established requirements to design devices using CAD software.
Job Responsibilities- CAD Modeling:
Responsible for modeling of complex parts using Solid Works CAD software including design tables, surfacing, and complex assemblies. - Manufacturing Drawings:
Responsible for creating manufacturing drawings per ASME Y14.5. - Tolerance Analysis (GD&T):
Perform tolerance analysis on all interfacing devices. - Design for Manufacturability:
Work with manufacturing personnel to ensure parts can be efficiently manufactured.

- Good understanding of fundamental mechanical principles

- Experience with Microsoft Office Products reverting spreadsheets
- Hands‑on mechanical ability and machine experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Astura Medical is not currently sponsoring visas, including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, or EAD, and we are not accepting visa transfers.)
- Minimum of 1-3 years in product design
- Formal CAD and GD&T training preferred
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
