PCB Layout Engineer –
Altezzasys –
Irving, TX (Onsite)
Candidate: 70% for Layout and 30% for Librarian.
Skills:
PCB design Engineer with good expertise in Cadence Allegro.
- Create, maintain & manage electronic component library databases used in printed circuit board (PCB) design.
- Prepare schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models per IPC standards and using company checklists.
- Implement and enforce library processes, naming conventions, and revision controls.
- Ensure that these libraries are accurate, up‑to‑date, and compatible with various design tools and manufacturing processes.
- Review and verify the accuracy of component libraries, identifying and correcting any errors or inconsistencies.
- Execute on schedules for part creation requests for the electronics library.
- Resolve library issues as they arise.
- Design complex IC packages such as BGA, CSP, WLCSP, etc.
- Administer CAD libraries and integrate them with PLM/PDM systems.
- Apply advanced DFA, DFM, and DFT practices.
- Collaborate closely with schematic and PCB designers.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings.
- Mentor designers and enforce consistent library usage across the company.
- Understand PCB manufacturing processes and industry standards (IPC, RoHS, JEDEC, REACH, UL).
- Knowledge of soldering processes – wave soldering, SMT reflow soldering, etc.
- Use IEEE standards for schematic symbol creation and PCB library creation per IPC SM‑7351B (3‑tier CAD library system).
- Collaborate with design, procurement, and manufacturing engineers to ensure DFA, DFM, and DFT compliance.
- 7 years in PCB library management or PCB design in Altium and Cadence software.
- Strong background in electronics, component data management, and attention to detail, supported by an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.
- High‑speed, RF, or industry‑specific PCB design knowledge in Altium and Cadence.
- Integration experience with supplier data platforms (Octo Part, Silicon Expert).
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; attention to detail.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on priorities.
- Staying updated with new components and technologies in the constantly evolving electronics industry.
- Ability to analyse and solve technical issues with limited or no supervision.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
