Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a General Foreman at our large heavy civil project in North Texas area
. The Foreman is responsible for providing supervision and coordination of workers on a medium size (8 to 10) dirt work crew. The goals of this position include scheduling work to meet timetables in a safe manner and to meet estimated costs. This person must maintain a good working relationship with inspectors, developers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Manage a small amount of onsite fleet equipment
- Recruit hourly trade personnel
- Manage craftsmen and laborers, equipment and materials
- Logistics planning
- Scheduling construction daily and weekly
- Execute project work plans
- Manage crews productively and effectively
- Training of others on the crew
- Purchasing of materials, tools, and supplies
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Perform quality work to meet requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing dirt crews on heavy civil construction projects
- Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety and be diligent in demonstrating safe work practices
- Experience in supervising crew
- Experience using HCSS Heavy Job (tablet based)
- OSHA 10 hr, First Aid/CPR, rigging, flagging, fall protection, trench excavation, and manlift
- Must be highly organized with an attention to detail
- Be an effective communicator
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment and meet deadline
- High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Valid driver's license
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work on call as needed
