Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior Buyer to lead purchasing and inventory planning for key raw materials used in our product portfolio. This role will be responsible for demand forecasting, inventory management, and supplier purchasing across ingredients such as creatine, whey proteins, protein isolates, amino acids, flavors, and other supplement components.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in raw material procurement within nutraceuticals, supplements, food, or CPG, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. Experience using Net Suite for demand planning, purchasing, and inventory visibility is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
Manage purchasing of raw materials and ingredients including whey proteins, isolates, creatine, amino acids, flavors, and functional ingredients.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliability.
Build strong supplier relationships and maintain vendor performance metrics.
Monitor supplier lead times and proactively mitigate supply disruptions.
Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning
Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical sales data, growth projections, and marketing plans.
Manage inventory levels to balance service levels with working capital targets.
Create purchasing plans aligned with production schedules and product launch timelines.
Identify potential inventory risks such as shortages, excess stock, or aging inventory.
Net Suite & Data Management
Utilize Net Suite for purchase orders, demand planning, inventory tracking, and reporting.
Maintain accurate item master data, lead times, and supplier records.
Analyze purchasing and inventory trends to improve planning accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations, finance, product development, and contract manufacturers to align purchasing with production needs.
Support new product launches by securing raw materials and coordinating supply timelines.
Partner with finance to manage inventory budgets and cost controls.

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply planning.
Experience in sports nutrition, supplements, nutraceuticals, food ingredients, or CPG manufacturing strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with Net Suite ERP or similar systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Proven experience with demand forecasting and inventory planning.
Familiarity with raw material procurement for supplements (e.g., whey protein, creatine, amino acids, flavor systems).
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
Experience working with contract manufacturers (CMOs) is a plus.
