Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for executing core accounting functions with a primary focus on journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close support. This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial data by maintaining detailed schedules, supporting documentation, and timely completion of close activities. The Senior Staff Accountant partners closely with the Controller to support financial reporting and maintain strong accounting processes.
This position is a hybrid role with 2‑3 days in office and the remainder remote. Office location is in Irving at 635/Freeport Parkway.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments.
- Assist in the monthly close process, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintain organized and audit‑ready supporting schedules and documentation.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure all reconciliations are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
- Support payroll accounting, including entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger through consistent review and analysis.
- Assist in identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies.
- Support proper classification of transactions.
- Assist the Controller in preparing financial reports and variance analysis.
- Provide supporting schedules and explanations for financial fluctuations.
- Partner with AP, AR, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial data flow.
- Assist with data validation related to billing, collections, and expenses.
- Assist with tax schedules and coordination with external advisors.
- Prepare documentation and schedules required for internal and external audits.
- Ensure all work is compliant with GAAP and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.
- Support implementation of standardized workflows and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of general ledger accounting and month‑end close experience.
- Strong understanding of lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
- Experience with accounting systems and Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
