Staff Accountant

We are seeking a proactive individual with strong analytical skills to join our team as a Staff Accountant. The candidate will manage general accounting functions for month-end closing, project and subcontractor setup, fixed assets, and general ledger support. The Staff Accountant will also oversee the billing and collection processes out of the Time & Material billing system. This position will also involve the timely, complete, and accurate reporting of their assigned monthly financial tasks in accordance with company policies and US GAAP.

Other responsibilities include account reconciliations and supporting the budget and forecast processes.

• Analyze project plans to ensure company objectives are met with margins. Also, works with the project managers to ensure all updated information is updated in the time & materials system.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Oversees both the billing to clients and the timely collections of all open accounts receivable balances.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual closings as assigned.
• Assist with the month-end and ad-hoc reporting to the parent company.
• Prepares reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as needed.
• Research and explain expense variances to the prior year and plan or other ad-hoc analysis as requested.
• Supports both the monthly forecasting and annual planning processes.
• Maintain proper effective internal controls.
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Documents policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical and accounting skills.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (SAP or other full-scale ERP software).
• Experience with timesheet, project, and subcontractor management systems (SAP Fieldglass or other similar systems).
• Intermediate to advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel and strong use of other Microsoft products.
• Must be able to multi-task effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
• The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of their work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the company.
• Has customer service orientation skills.
• Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven performer in a team environment.
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred, and/or at least five years of working experience as a Staff Accountant.
• This position is located in Irving, TX, and will require working from our office.
