Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing construction company headquartered in Dallas, is seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant to support core corporate accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone with 1+ year of accounting experience (Audit or G/L) who enjoys hands‑on work, can think independently, and thrives in a fast‑paced, sometimes unstructured environment.

This is an on‑site role in the corporate headquarters with great exposure and training!

• Support the monthly G/L close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain and track fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and equipment accounting
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reporting
• Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of underlying data
• Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
• Jump in on other G/L‑related tasks as the department grows and evolves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 12+ Accounting hours
• 2–4 years of full general ledger accounting experience
• Must have closed the general ledger (accruals/adjustments) at monthly close
• Experience in analyzing the variances between actual and budgeted amounts
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting processes
• Advanced Excel - ability to manipulate Pivot Tables, Lookups, etc
• Ability to work independently, ask questions, and problem‑solve in an unstructured environment
• Strong attention to detail and follow‑through
• Comfort working with operations and leadership in a fast‑moving company
