Property Accountant

Description

We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Las Colinas, Texas. In this role, you will collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and management of property financials. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a solid background in property accounting.

Responsibilities:

- Perform bank reconciliations for assigned properties

- Analyze general ledger entries and prepare journal entries for monthly property financial closings.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and sub-ledgers to maintain accurate financial records.

- Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports to support business operations.

- Prepare annual CAM reconciliations and assist asset management teams during reforecast and budgeting processes.

- Review and approve invoices ensuring timely posting and payment processing.

- Maintain schedules for prepaids, insurance, and property taxes to ensure proper tracking.

- Assist with annual audit and tax preparation to ensure compliance with regulations.

- Support fixed asset management, including monthly depreciation calculations.

- Participate in special projects related to quarterly close, budgeting, audits, and investor reporting requirements.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in accounting

- At least 2 years of experience in property accounting, preferably with commercial assets such as office, retail, or industrial properties.

- Proficiency in Yardi software

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe applications.

- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.

- Strong problem-solving skills and independent judgment.

- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
