Senior Accountant II – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant II – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting supports the preparation and review of SEC filings, internal financial packages, and assisting with technical accounting research.

Key Accountabilities

• Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.
• Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.
• Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
• Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
• Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

• Supports the preparation and automation of SEC disclosures, including researching new or evolving reporting requirements.
• Supports the analysis of the financial reporting impact of transactions.
• Participates in process improvement and transformation efforts.
• Develops and delivers ad hoc financial reports.
• Monitors developments in accounting standards and reporting requirements, contributing to technical research and updates as needed.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:

3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field

Experience Preferred In The Energy Industry, But Not Required

• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills
• Process improvement oriented
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process
