** Job Summary
** The Senior Accountant II – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting supports the preparation and review of SEC filings, internal financial packages, and assisting with technical accounting research.
** Job Description
** Key Accountabilities  Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.  Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.  Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.  Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.  Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.  

Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.  Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.
Role Specific Accountabilities:  Supports the preparation and automation of SEC disclosures, including researching new or evolving reporting requirements.  Supports the analysis of the financial reporting impact of transactions  Participates in process improvement and transformation efforts.  Develops and delivers ad hoc financial reports  Monitors developments in accounting standards and reporting requirements, contributing to technical research and updates as needed.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:

3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field  Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required

Skills:

• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems  
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills  
• Process improvement oriented   
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process    Core Competencies / Key Metrics  Business Acumen and Industry Insights: navigate and assess Vistra operations and the broader electricity and power generation environment.  Technology and Process Acumen: holistic comprehension of end-to-end processes and associated enabling technologies.  Data Analytics and Strategic Decision Support: harness the power of data and influence strategic decision making.  Effective Communication and Continuous Improvement: support organizational transformation and foster a collaborative, transparent environment.
