Staff Accountant

Reports to:

Director of Finance | Job Type: Full-time | Exempt

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of our financial operations through account reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close support. • Prepare and record journal entries including revenues, depreciation, and adjusting entries
• Perform monthly closing activities and reconcile all balance sheet accounts
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and necessary subsidiary ledgers
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy
• Record deposits and code/enter invoices
• Assist with budgeting, including designing reports and supporting the CFO
• Conduct operational studies and recommend process improvements
• Support additional accounting duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional office setting
• Experience operating office equipment (copier, fax, 10-key calculator)
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting
• High level of organization and problem-solving capabilities
• Primarily office-based with minimal travel (up to 10%)
• Standard business hours with occasional flexibility for special projects
• Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
