Position: Dads Worker x 2 North and East Ayrshire

Dads Rock is a Scotland-based organisation dedicated to supporting fathers, children, and families to build strong and meaningful relationships. By providing various services such as free weekly groups, parenting classes, and one-to-one support, Dads Rock empowers fathers to become confident caregivers and actively involved parents. The organisation aims to enhance family cohesion and improve care for children by working with fathers.

Dads Rock is also unique in offering Scotland's only peer support services for dads during the perinatal stage, ensuring support from pregnancy through the baby's first year. The organisation operates in various regions, including as part of the Universal Early Years team in North & East Ayrshire.

Role Description

Our team is expanding and we are looking for two additional Dads Workers (28 hours & 21 hours per week) to Support Dads, children and families across East Ayrshire. This role involves engaging with Dads and families to offer bespoke support and signposting in both one to one and small group settings.

With support from our Lead Dads Worker in North Ayrshire you will develop our service provision into East Ayrshire alongside health and social care professionals in the universal early years team, you will help provide Dads and other male carers with the tools they need to become more confident and resilient and ensure the best start in life for their children.

Qualifications
  • Experience in family support, group facilitation, and one-on-one mentoring
  • Skills in community engagement, relationship-building, and empowering individuals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and empathy
  • Knowledge of parenting challenges, especially for young or at-risk dads, and perinatal support needs
  • Organisational skills for planning and executing programs or workshops
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both in-person and remote settings
  • Understanding of child development, diversity, and inclusivity in family support
