Position: Practice Educator / Charge Nurse

Position

Practice Educator / Charge Nurse based at Ballot Road.

Hours

Full‑time 37 hours per week. From 1 April 2026 the working week will be reduced to 36 hours without loss of earnings. The postholder will work Monday to Friday with a weekend commitment and this position is permanent.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.

What you will do

Working closely with the Clinical Team Leader (CTL) and the Senior Nurse for Community Nursing, the postholder will provide professional leadership, management and expert community nursing care advice to the Complex Packages of Care (Adult) Service. You must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work on your own initiative as a lone worker in a variety of community settings, and be willing to undertake appropriate training.

Knowledge,

training and/or experience required to do the job
  • 1st Level Registration – Adult Nursing with current NMC registration.
  • Experience in a primary care/community setting.
  • Relevant post‑registration qualification at postgraduate diploma level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a role that supports practice learning.
  • Current knowledge of leg ulcer management ideally with professional qualification.
  • Experience in and commitment to teaching and facilitation of learning in clinical practice.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation, influencing, negotiation and report writing.
  • IT skills.
