Job Summary

As a Wild Rivers Lifeguard, you are the heartbeat of guest safety and fun. On a day-to-day basis you will be monitoring pools, slides, and other water features, enforcingparkrules, and responding to emergencies in a quick, calm, and effective manner. Along with watching the water, youare also trained to berideoperator. Youensure that every ride experience is smooth, secure, and unforgettable. With a keen eye for detail and a friendly demeanor, you guide guests through boarding procedures, enforce safety protocols, and monitor ride operations with precision.

Job Functions
  • Monitor pools, slides, the river and all aquatic attractions to ensure guest safety and enforce park policies.
  • Perform rescues, provide first aid, CPR and emergency response as needed.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of assigned zones using proper scanning techniques.
  • Communicate clearly with guests regarding rules, safety procedures and ride requirements.
  • Report incidents, accidents, and maintenance concerns accurately and promptly.
  • Properly dispatch and adhere to ride policies.
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Assist with guest inquiries, customer service needs and crowd control during peak times.
  • Support cleanliness of chairs, walkways and surrounding areas.
  • Work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and high-temperature days during peak season.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
  • Participate in regular in-service training to maintain Lifeguard certifications and skills.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • Must be 16 years of age or older by July 1 st , 2026.
  • Must have a current Star Guard Elite  certification or attend our in-park Lifeguard certification course.
  • Previous lifeguarding or customer-service experience is preferred, but not required.

Cognitive and Physical Demands
  • Ability to remain attentive and vigilant for extended periods in sun and heat.
  • Ability to climb towers, move quickly around pool decks and perform rescues.
  • Lift and carry up to 10 pounds in water.
  • Strong visual and auditory acuity to identify potential hazards and respond to whistles, radios or guest calls.
  • Ability to make rapid, sound decisions under pressure.
Working Conditions
  • Outdoor environment with prolonged exposure to sun, heat, humidity and chlorinated water.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing and sitting in elevated chair positions.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals used for water treatment including chlorine solutions.
  • High-noise environment with frequent interaction with large crowds.
  • Work may include irregular hours, extended shifts and peak-season demands.
