Senior Biomed AI​/Machine learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions for next-generation medical and health monitoring devices
• Analyze large, multi-modal datasets from invasive and non-invasive sensors to uncover relationships between physiological measurements and medically relevant conditions
• Develop computational models for disease diagnosis, detection, and prediction of critical clinical events
• Design, train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models using large, real‑world datasets
• Work with continuous data streams, ensuring models are robust, accurate, and suitable for real‑time or near‑real‑time applications
• Collaborate closely with software, hardware, systems, and product teams to ensure efficient integration and deployment of AI/ML solutions into production medical devices
• Apply machine learning techniques including regression, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, structured output learning, and anomaly detection
• Contribute to innovation by generating novel, patentable ideas that advance the organization’s technology leadership
• Deliver high‑quality software design, implementation, documentation, and validation artifacts
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to engineering, product, and marketing stakeholders
• Support model validation, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement in regulated development environments
• Stay current with emerging AI/ML techniques and apply best practices to biomedical problem domains
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the R&D organization

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and/or deep learning
• Hands‑on experience designing and training machine learning models using modern frameworks such as Tensor Flow, Keras, PyTorch, and scikit‑learn
• Strong programming experience in Python, with working knowledge of Matlab and C++
• Practical experience applying machine learning techniques to problems including regression, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, structured output, and anomaly detection
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative research and development environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
