Staff Engineer I – Software Engineer, Data Services – Western Alliance Bank – Dallas/Irving, TX
What you’ll do:Come join Ameri Home’s team, a Western Alliance Bank company, as a Staff Engineer I of the Data Services team. We’re building a cutting‑edge platform designed to streamline and enhance business workflows in the mortgage‑lending space. As part of a dynamic and growing team, you’ll help shape the software that drives our evolving business needs. In this mid‑level role you’ll be proficient in key products, manage and support IT infrastructure and applications, identify development and support needs, provide design guidance, facilitate dialogue and activities, and ensure team collaboration.
- Participate in the architectural design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable software applications using .NET and C#.
- Take assignments that can be worked on individually without supervision and manage work effort from concept to completion.
- Design and implement engineering principles aimed at reliability practices and sound recovery procedures.
- Design transaction‑specific application performance monitoring metrics that can be captured and passed to business partners. In addition, layout reference architecture and visual diagrams that capture work.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry standards, including reviewing and refining IT control enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes and tools.
- 5+ years of related experience in IT Development, or a similar field including designing and building highly available and scalable applications with C# in .NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core or MVC.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, and AWS).
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service or a certified AI‑102 is a plus.
- Advanced proven experience in leading cross‑functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure Dev Ops while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Intermediate to advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross‑functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- May require up to 25% travel.
Compensation:
Salary range for new hires is generally $ – $ for Dallas/Irving, TX. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
