SIL Engineer (SIL Test Automation Engineer) – Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies About Us

As a SIL Test Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and performance of our embedded software. You will design Software-in-the-Loop test frameworks and tools that will be used across the organization to develop and test software features in a simulated environment. You will work closely with Controls engineers and Systems engineers across the full life cycle of feature development.

• Develop Python‑based tools for Software-in-the-Loop testing
• Implement CI/CD best practices to ensure embedded C code is regularly tested
• Work with software developers and systems engineers to define testing use cases
• Contribute to increasing overall test coverage

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree (Master’s Preferred) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, or related fields
• Proficient in software development processes and relevant tools
• Proficiency with C/C++, Python, Mako
• Understanding of industry‑standard software build systems (e.g. Bazel, SCons)

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Irvine, California Based Applicants: $85,600 - $107,000 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
