Habitat Restoration Technician

The Habitat Restoration Technician will work on public and private job sites removing non‑native plant species, mowing/weed whipping, herbicide application, plant installation, irrigation installation, and various other tasks as directed by the Habitat Restoration Lead and Habitat Restoration Supervisor. Technicians will participate in daily tailgate meetings and periodic training sessions. Technicians may need to travel out‑of‑town for projects on occasion. This role is not a landscaping company position.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, as well as good writing and communication skills.

Hourly wages will be based on qualifications and experience. Starting rates range between $20 to $24 per hour and will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience. Habitat Restoration Technician positions are available in three levels and candidates will be placed in the most appropriate level based on previous experience.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be physically able and willing to work in varying terrain (including uneven surfaces and steep slopes) and weather conditions

• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record over the last 3 years
• 1+ years of general labor and/or landscaping experience
• Knowledge of native plants
• Irrigation experience
• Planting experience
• Ability to use a smartphone and tablet for reporting purposes

$20–$24 per hour
