This position will perform routine and non‑routine maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work on vehicles (buses, vans, etc.) adhering to Transdev standards. The role performs work under minimal supervision, handles more complex problems, resolves issues independently, and maintains a commitment to safety. Candidates may mentor or provide informal guidance to Technician I and/or Technician II, and may act as a Shift Foreman with shift premium compensation.

Compensation- $34.86/hr – $39.00/hr (based on experience/qualifications)

- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers by performing limited repairs with minimal supervision on basic and complex maintenance tasks such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, checking fluid levels, changing fluids and filters, and lubricating components.
- Perform mechanical repairs under minimal supervision, including repairs and inspections of brakes, engine tune‑ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other components.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used, and ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately.
- Order repair parts from designated suppliers and maintain parts usage records.
- Diagnose and accurately perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision; may use diagnostic tests with computer and manufacturer’s software to determine mechanical defects.
- Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety maintenance inspections, and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals.
- Remove, overhaul, and reinstall mechanical components with minimal Tech in Charge supervision.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
- Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies, and procedures.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
- Other responsibilities as requested or required.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or Technical certification in vehicle repair (Preferred)
- Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire)
- State inspection license (if required)
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Adhere to standard DOT state motor vehicle inspection and safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Advanced problem‑solving ability.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Comfortable using hand tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintain them in a clean and safe manner.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Work environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor settings.
- Maintenance shop environment with dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
- Ability to work under all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Successful pre‑employment drug screen.
