Lead Technician
Transdev in Irvine, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our team. The Lead Technician will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Pay& Collective Bargaining Agreement
- $37.11/hr

Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and equipment.
- Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance and repair activities while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Coach and monitor members of the technician team.
- Other duties as required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an automotive or diesel technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines and related systems.
- Must possess a mechanic’s tool set.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to obtain ASE certifications while employed (company training, testing, and bonuses provided).
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
