As a Biologist
, your days will vary—from conducting vegetation mapping in the field, to preparing technical reports, to collaborating with project managers on environmental permitting. You'll lead or support sensitive species surveys, jurisdictional delineations, and biological monitoring, bringing creativity and analytical thinking to unique project challenges.
- Lead or assist with biological surveys, vegetation mapping, jurisdictional delineations, focused species surveys, and pre‑construction clearance surveys.
- Conduct biological monitoring for construction and restoration projects.
- Prepare or contribute to technical reports, habitat assessments, CEQA/NEPA sections, restoration plans, and annual reports.
- Support wetland permitting and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate field notes, maps, logs, and project files.
- Assist project managers with proposals, augments, and business development.
- Travel occasionally, including overnight field assignments.
This Biologist role offers a flexible hybrid schedule, working 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Compensation$37 $ 42 per hour
, based on experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, or a related environmental science (no biochemistry/microbiology).
- 4+ years of relevant biological experience, including 1+ year in Southern California.
- Experience with environmental consulting and biological resource assessments.
- Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to conduct strenuous fieldwork in varying terrain and weather.
- Valid CA driver's license and clean driving record (3 years).
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- 2+ years conducting floristic surveys in Southern California.
- Strong plant s using Jepson Manual and other keys.
- Experience conducting aquatic resource delineations.
- Focused‑species permits (flora and/or fauna).
- Certifications such as ISA Arborist, Basic Wetland Delineation, or SWS Wetland Certification.
- Experience with agency coordination, habitat restoration, and environmental compliance monitoring.
