Position DescriptionThe University of California, Irvine, Department of Dermatology offers a 1-year position as a Junior Specialist level to begin in July 2026 in Onco Dermatology under the direction of Janellen Smith MD, Christopher Zachary MD, and Xiying Fan MD. This burgeoning field is ripe for investigation and various projects to be pursued. The major thrust of Onco Dermatology is the care of patients benefit ting from new life‑saving anticancer therapeutics, a significant proportion of whom develop severe skin reactions.
There is a real gap in the understanding of these devastating skin complications.
The successful candidate will be introduced to the fundamental principles of conducting clinical trials in Onco Dermatology including understanding how to design, implement, and analyze trials. They will have the opportunity to participate in complex medical dermatology clinics, as well as participate in ongoing and new projects. They will also have the opportunity to present their work at regional and national meetings and publish their findings when appropriate.
