Overview

We are a general contractor specializing in public sector projects, now expanding into private commercial construction. Our headquarters is in Southern California. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to spearhead our entry into the commercial market by generating leads, securing contracts, and building a sales process from the ground up.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Responsibilities
  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities, including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR

Physical Requirements
  • At least five years of related experience required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
Compensation Structure

To ensure alignment with company growth, compensation is structured as follows:

  • Base Salary:
    Moderate (to be discussed based on experience).
  • Performance-Based Commission:
    Percentage of net profit from private commercial contracts (B2B) secured by the BDM.
  • Bonus Milestones:
    Additional incentives for hitting revenue or contract goals (securing a certain amount in new contracts within a year).
