About the Job

Cityside Fiber is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager – New Construction to join our Sales team. This role is responsible for securing Building Access Agreements (BAAs), identifying greenfield development opportunities, and establishing strategic relationships with property owners, developers, and construction stakeholders to enable fiber optic network expansion. The position plays a key part in advancing Cityside's growth strategy by aligning new construction opportunities with our network build path and ensuring early-stage integration into development projects.

Success in this position requires exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, proactive outreach capabilities, strong organizational abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with commercial, industrial, government, healthcare, education, and MDU property owners, managers, HOAs, and onsite facilities teams
  • Secure Building Access Agreements (BAAs) through both proactive outreach (heavy cold-calling to build pipeline ahead of sales needs) and reactive support (collaborating with Business Account Executives on active deals requiring property access)
  • Conduct onsite visits, presentations, and negotiations to execute BAAs for both strategic pipeline development and immediate sales opportunities
  • Maintain detailed records of BAA progress, site notes, and communication history in Salesforce
  • Identify and pursue greenfield opportunities within planned network build areas, including residential communities, MDUs, commercial sites, and mixed-use developments
  • Build strategic relationships with developers, general contractors, engineering/design firms, and land development stakeholders
  • Integrate into early-stage project planning cycles to ensure fiber infrastructure becomes part of initial site design
  • Align outreach with targeted build path locations and track development timelines against internal network build plans
  • Partner closely with New Market Development on target zones, build sequencing, and expansion strategy
  • Coordinate with Construction teams to validate build feasibility, timelines, and technical requirements for each site
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outreach campaigns, industry events, and community engagement initiatives
  • Work with Sales and Finance to ensure BAA opportunities are properly structured, evaluated, and forecasted
  • Represent Cityside Fiber at industry trade shows, networking events, and organizations (BIAOC, BOMA, and other real estate/construction associations)
  • Serve as a subject-matter advocate for fiber connectivity and Cityside's network capabilities within the Southern California market
  • Contribute to a culture of trust, integrity, and collaboration
  • Understand and uphold Cityside Fiber's core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–7+ years of experience in business development, sales, telecommunications, construction, real estate, or a related field
  • Direct experience in FTTX (fiber-to-the-x), telecom infrastructure, or right-of-way/building access negotiations strongly preferred
  • Background working with property managers, HOAs, developers, general contractors, architects, or engineering firms is highly valued
  • Understanding of new construction planning cycles—including entitlement, permitting, design, and build phases—is a plus
  • Proven success in cold-calling, outbound prospecting, and generating meetings with difficult-to-reach stakeholders
  • Experience negotiating access agreements, easements, contracts, or licensing deals desirable
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with CRM systems;
    Salesforce experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and operate with urgency in a fast-moving environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to coordinate across departments to drive a project from initial contact to signed BAA
