Cox Communications is looking for a Retail Sales Associate who connects easily with others and can drive sales while making customers feel special. This role requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays, reporting to the Store Manager, and following the retail routine.
What You’ll Do- Explain and demonstrate product capabilities and offer suggestions based on customer wants and needs
- Meet or exceed targets regarding customer experience, sales, and retention
- Assist with the opening/closing of the store retail environment
- Properly handle cash
- Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos
- Support fellow sales agents when needed
- Continuously expand knowledge of current Cox products and competitor offerings through regular training
- May be required to work in other locations in the same geographical area
- Variable targeted total compensation of $57,172 (
27.49/hr.); high earners (top 10%) can reach an average annual compensation of over $74,455 (
35.80/hr.) - Full‑time hourly base rate of $19.00/hr plus monthly targeted commissions of $1,471 with a ramp period of up to 2 months

- HS diploma/GED or up to 2 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for consultative selling and influencing customer decisions
- Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced team environment
- Ability to be mobile within the store for long periods of time to greet customers and demonstrate products and services
- Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to lift 25‑50 pounds to help manage stock room inventory
- Some college experience focused in sales, business, and/or management
- One year of experience in a related field (sales, retail sales, service industry, etc.)
- Experience selling wireless/mobile products
- Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken
Hourly pay rate is $17.88 - $26.83/hour
. This rate may vary within the anticipated range based on location and candidate experience. The role also qualifies for an annual incentive/commission target of $17,652.00
.
Employees are eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Additional paid time off is available for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave.
