Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered, receive the correct amount tendered and provide the correct change for each transaction.
  • Enact gift cards requested by customers.
  • Be very familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner.
  • Make corrections to customer orders in a fast and efficient manner.
  • Determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money.
  • Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Treat all customers in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well‑groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used.
  • Complete requirements for in‑service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.

  • Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co‑workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
  • Promotes positive public relations with community, family members and guests.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Prior experience related to cashier or food service positions.
  • Valid Serv Safe® or other approved Food Handler Certification.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
Working Conditions

Restaurant environment. When warranted, may be required to work beyond normal working hours as needed to meet customer needs or restaurant requirements.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Frequent standing, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling.
  • Maintain composure when dealing with staff and occasionally under conditions of urgency and/or pressure situations in a fast‑paced environment.
