Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Microbiomics Research & Development Team ! In this role, you will play a vital part in developing new sample preparation systems and molecular assays, utilizing your skills and expertise in a laboratory set-up and in a highly dynamic team. Your contributions will be essential for the development of new products and services that drive microbiome-related discoveries and applications.

• Prepare reagents, buffers, and media for experiments
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Design experiments, optimize protocols, or establish new methods under supervision
• Perform DNA/RNA extraction and NGS library preparation
• Handle, process, and store biological specimens
• Conduct routine assays such as PCR, Tape Station and Qubit analysis, gel electrophoresis
• Record experimental results accurately in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems
• Perform basic data analysis, prepare reports, and suggest future experiments based on the results obtained
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and troubleshoot experiments

• Assist scientists and senior team members with research projects
• Adhere to company quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Assist customers

• Bachelor in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or related fields
• 3-12 or month work/internship experience biotechnology company
• Good background knowledge in the fields of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry
• Proficiency in techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA extraction
• Clear understanding and application of experimental design principles
• Good practice in handling, processing, and storing biological samples such swabs, stool, urine, blood, tissues, and cell culture samples

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $68,640 annually at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
