Position Overview

Join the Wang Lab at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, UC Irvine, as a Postdoctoral Scholar to develop and investigate biomaterials for vaccine delivery to improve immune responses toward infectious viruses.

Salary Information

Expected salary range: $69, (Postdoc Level 0–2). Salary scales are determined by rank and step at appointment.

Position Description (Responsibilities)
  • Develop and investigate biomaterials for vaccine delivery.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary research in collaboration with the Samueli School of Engineering and the Adeline Yen Mah Vaccine Center.
  • Design, synthesize, and characterize nanomaterials and polymer formulations.
  • Perform in vitro and in vivo immunological assays, including antibody, B‑cell, and T‑cell response analysis after immunization.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in chemical engineering, materials science, biomedical engineering, immunology, or a related field.
  • Experience in recombinant protein expression and purification.
  • Experience in nanomaterials synthesis and characterization.
  • Experience in polymer formulation and characterization.
  • Experience with in vitro and in vivo immunological approaches.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
