Position Overview
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites highly motivated applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position in the Wang lab. This scholar will develop and investigate biomaterials for vaccine delivery to improve immune responses toward infectious viruses.
Salary RangeExpected salary range: $69,073 – $74,281 (Postdoc Level 0 – Level
2).

This research project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between research groups in the Samueli School of Engineering and the Adeline Yen Mah Vaccine Center at UC Irvine. The scholar will design, synthesize, and characterize novel biomaterials for vaccine delivery and evaluate immune responses in vitro and in vivo.
- Recombinant protein expression and purification
- Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization
- Polymers formulation and characterization
- In vitro and in vivo immunological approaches, particularly methods to examine antibodies, B cell development, and T cell responses after immunization
Good organization, communication, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, materials science, biomedical engineering, immunology, or other relevant field.
